Webinars

The course is supported by optional webinars each week. A webinar is an online talk where you can listen in and ask questions or make comments via a chatbox. It is always interesting to see who else has joined. Only one person can talk at a time, and at the end of a webinar talk, the microphone can be handed over to someone else for a verbal comment. However Africa's bandwidth problem usually precludes us from doing this. These webinars usually around 15 - 30 minutes in length.  and if you can’t make a live webinar, the recording with the presentation will be placed on the blog for you to listen to in your own time.

We will be exploring a few webinar applications during this course. Our usual webinar programme is Adobe Connect but we only have a sponsorship for 25 participatns so we are exploring other options as well.

This page will keep you informed of upcoming webinars and how to join them. Recordings will also be posted here.  The webinars begin in Week 1. Keep watching this page for more details.  We normally do our webianrs using Adobe Connect, but we are exploring the use of Lync. That is why the webinar details haven't been added yet. Recordings of webinars will always be posted on the blog the following day in case you missed the event.

Test your system if the webinar uses Adobe Connect

All you really need to do for an Adobe webinar is test your connection before the time if you have never tuned in before, as you might need to add an add-in: http://meet78641452.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htmThen on the evening just click on the link, log in as a guest and write your name.

1) (Must do this) Test your connection:
