Background to today's webinar
I don’t think Lorato will be joining us for today's webinar. We have reached another difficult part of the course this week in that although your stories may be written:
- They now need to be transferred to an application that the African Storybook project can use and that most online publishing applications can also use. That is why we have to use a presentation format. The great news is that a presentation format can alo be converted to a video and that is what I’ll be showing next week!
- They also need to be illustrated and not many of us are artists
Take a look at last year’s stories for illustration ideasThis may be a good time to invite you to look at the completed stories of last year's course participants which are stored on a wikihttp://africanstorybookproject.wikispaces.com/.

Important information about webinars
A webinar is an online talk, a live event, where you can listen in, ask and answer questions, give ideas or make comments via a chatbox. A webinar usually lasts around 15 - 30 minutes in length.
Test your device first - must do this
All you really need to do for an Adobe webinar is test your connection before the time if you have never tuned in before, as you might need to add an add-in:
http://meet78641452.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm. Then just click on the link, log in as a guest and write your name.
If you are using a tablet you will need to install the relevant Adobe Connect App. I haven't tried using a tablet for a webinar before so if you have success with this will you let me know?
Hi
ReplyDeleteI just had a look at some of last years books. I have a question. There is a lot of writing in these stories especially for level 1 & 2 stories for children who may not have English as a first language. I was planning on less writing with a high repetition of high frequency words, would that be ok?
