Hello there again! Hope you are doing well in the course as we set the background for writing our stories. Thanks so much for your comments in Facebook and on the course blog. We are having our second webinar of the course this afternoon. We hope you can join us. If not, the recording and the presentation will be placed on the course blog tomorrow. We hope you have received email 4 on Monday this week? If not, I have placed it on the course blog so you can catch up from there.
Today's webinar
In today's webinar I'll quickly show you how I have used the African Storybook website in the classroom. Lorato is going to do the really important part of the webinar where she'll explain the African Storybook's team's expectations from us and give a breakdown of the levels and types of stories the team is looking for. This is to prepare us for next week when we will start to write!
Webinar details
Meeting Name: Use the African Storybook website in your classroom
Summary: In this webinar we will share ideas of how to use the African Storybook website in your classroom if you are a teacher or with your children if you are a parent. The ASP website has great potential both as a writing took and a source of reading material. We'll also look closely at what the African Storybook team would like from us in terms of stories.
When: 07/31/2014 from 3:15 PM - 3:45 PM
Time Zone: (GMT+02:00) Harare, Pretoria
To join the meeting: http://meet78641452.adobeconnect.com/asp-classroom/
All you have to do is click on the link and you will be taken to a sign in page of Adobe Connect. If it is your first time on Adobe Connect you will be asked to check your computer to see if it has an add-in installed - and if you don’t you will be taken through the process. Thereafter you sign in as a guest with your name and you join us. You can chat in the chat box but can unfortunately not chat verbally unless I give you microphone rights. Our Adobe Connect webinar sponsorship allows 25 attendees - but as I mentioned everything will be available for you to listen to in your own time.
Important information about webinars
A webinar is an online talk, a live event, where you can listen in, ask and answer questions, give ideas or make comments via a chatbox. A webinar usually lasts around 15 - 30 minutes in length.
Test your device first - must do this
All you really need to do for an Adobe webinar is test your connection before the time if you have never tuned in before, as you might need to add an add-in:
http://meet78641452.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm. Then just click on the link, log in as a guest and write your name.
If you are using a tablet you will need to install the relevant Adobe Connect App. I haven't tried using a tablet for a webinar before so if you have success with this will you let me know?
Beatrice Murila.
ReplyDeleteFiona, may I please know if this week's Webinar will have a link so that those who are unable to attend the session can listen to the recording.I was able to access the one of last week and it was very useful.
